In the winter semester, students learn about selected language phenomena from the area of English phonetics and phonology. In the summer semester, they will also learn about selected varieties of English, basic notions in morphology and word formation processes.

Pronunciation practice aimed at developing students’ skills in correctly articulating the vowels, diphthongs and consonants of the English language, as well as some elements of connected speech. The classes incorporate practical exercises in producing and distinguishing between the phonemes, listening comprehension, rhythm, accentuation and intonation.

(in Polish) The practical English course is made of modules. The aim of the classes is to develop in students language all skills in English to consistent B2 (according to CEFR - Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

The block of practical English consists of the following components: Grammar and vocabulary, Speaking and listening, and Reading and writing. The components are treated as one subject and the successful completion of all is obligatory in order to receive a positive grade, which is calculated on the basis of the mean from the constituting components.
