Skrócony opis: (tylko po angielsku)

Subject Imaging diagnostics of endocrine organs aims to familiarize

the student with the symptomatology of the most common diseases

of this system in the images of radiological examinations. The

student learns the methods of radiological diagnostics of basic

diseases of endocrine organs. Learns indications and

contraindications for the ordered tests. The student can propose a

radiology examination during the diagnosis of endocrine organ

diseases. Can interpret its result

Pełny opis: (tylko po angielsku)

During the lectures, the student learns about the technical and physical

aspects of imaging. He is familiar with the construction of an X-ray

machine, computer tomograph, magnetic resonance imaging,

ultrasound machine. He learns the physical attitudes of radiography

and its varieties. Learns about contrast agents used in diagnostic

imaging as well as indications and contraindications for their use.

During the lectures, information systems used in radiology and the

principles of evidence-based imaging (EBR) will be presented. The

lectures are intended to present safety rules in imaging. The student

learns the influence of X-rays on cells, tissues and the body. Learns

4

the ALARA principle. Is able to apply techniques of individual and

general radiological protection. Learns the radiation doses in

individual diagnostic tests. He understands the safety of MRI and

ultrasound. Additionally, lectures are devoted to the basic principles

and techniques of radiological examinations in the field of endocrine

organs.

During the seminars, imaging of endocrine organs is presented. The

student learns the X-ray anatomy of endocrine organs. The

methodology of examination (X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound) of

endocrine organs is presented. The seminars are also devoted to

learning the indications and contraindications for examining

endocrine organs. The student learns the radiological and pathological

correlations during the diagnostics of endocrine organs. He learns to

recognize birth defects, inflammations, neoplasms and neoplastic

changes, injuries of endocrine organs
