These is not yet a single book in Polish (as in English) which covers the whole lecture content. Proceedings of the lecture are the basis for the preparation of a student for the exam. Elements of the content of the lecture are to find in the following books:

Efekty uczenia się:

Effects within the scope of knowledge:

W1 – Has a structured and consolidated knowledge in the area of general Chemistry.

W2 – Knows basic chemical laws and theories.

W3 – Has an extended knowledge in the area of applied Chemistry in connection with selected areas of real world: politics, environment, economy and the daily life of men.

Effects within the scope of skills:

After the completion the lecture, a student should:

U1- Explains the properties of chemical elements in relation to their electronic structure.

U2 – Interoperates selected chemical and physical phenomena on the basis of three states of matter: gas, liquid and solid.

U3 - Demonstrates the ability to correlate theoretical aspects of Chemistry presented in the lecture with some aspects and phenomena in everyday life and industry.

U4 – Can define threats to the Humanity and the Environment caused by massive chemical conversion of matter.

U5 – Can define advantages and disadvantages of different energy sources.

Within the scope of social competence:

After the completion the lecture, a student should:

K1-Develop a positive image of Chemistry as the driving force in economic development.

K2-Be aware of the need to care for the environment and the threats posed to the environment by human activity.

Metody i kryteria oceniania:

Electronic exam consisting of 15 topics. Each topic is supplemented with 5 statements. Student must answer to each statement if it is truth or false (possible answers YES or NO). Answers to the statements within a topic are independent. Topic scoring: 5 right answers – 5 points, 4 right answers – 3 points, 3-0 right answers – 0 points.

Maximal exam score - 75 points (15 topics x 5 points).

Grading scale:

0 – 37 points – grade: fail – D or E (2.0)

38 – 44 points – grade: satisfactory - C (3.0)

45 – 52 points – grade: satisfactory plus – C+ (3.5)

53 – 59 points – grade: good – B (4.0)

60 – 67 points – grade: good – B+ (4.5)

68 – 75 points – grade: very good - A (5.0)
