The seminar will develop close reading skills and present issues in stylistics and poetics from the perspective of pre-translation analysis of literary texts. |
Pełny opis: |
The seminar will introduce crucial terms in poetics and literary stylistics for the purposed of pre-translation literary analysis and translation assessment. Students will practice close reading and annotating literary texts in terms of diction, imagery, tropes, narrative mode, etc. and the relationship between style and meaning in a literary work. Assignments will include text analysis and translation review as well as translation of literary texts from English into Polish. |
