Efekty uczenia się - umiejętności: | (tylko po angielsku) U1: The student is able to read and comprehend advanced texts in the field of cultural studies in English (K_U02). U2: The graduate is able to critically analyse and interpret various texts, use specialist terminology and justify the selected methodology in the field of cultural and literary studies (K_U10). U4: The student displays a high level of ability to compose written works in English, using basic theoretical approaches in the field of cultural studies and a variety of sources. (K_U11) U3: The student displays advanced argumentation skills and is able to refer to scholars’ opinions as well as to draw conclusions and prepare synthetic summaries in the field of literary and cultural studies (K_U13). U4: The student is able to conduct a preliminary search of library holdings, use databases and the Internet, prepare a list of references, add notes with due care as to the copyright, format documents using a word processor and make a presentation, applying a suitable method of studying culture and literature (K_U14). U5: The student is able to recognise and analyse various types of non-literary cultural artefacts, such as transmedia texts, digital subcultures, music and video (K_U20). U6: The student is able to formulate critical opinions about cultural artefacts on the basis of academic knowledge and experience. The graduate is able to present their critical opinions in various forms and media (K_U21). |

(tylko po angielsku) The aim of the specialization seminar in literary and cultural studies is to introduce students to the new trends in the study of culture and literature. |
Pełny opis: |
(tylko po angielsku) The first semester is devoted to the study of ecocritical approaches in contemporary film and literature, post-apocalyptic film and fiction, well as the uses and abuses of myths and fairy tales in contemporary culture and literature. The second semester focuses on the representations of racial and gender identities in music and video, representations of trauma, fan fiction analysis as well as transmedia storytelling in contemporary culture and its consequences for the reader. Students will be encouraged to integrate their experience of contemporary culture and literature with new concepts in cultural theory. Winter semester: 1. Introduction 2. Ecocriticism 3. Post-apocalyptic film and fiction 4. Myths in contemporary culture and literature 5. Fairy tales in contemporary visual culture Summer semester: 6. Identity in music and video 7. Trauma studies 8. Transmedia storytelling and adaptation 9. Fan fiction analysis 10. Presentations. |
