  • roczny wymiar godzinowy nakładu pracy studenta konieczny do osiągnięcia zakładanych efektów uczenia się dla danego etapu studiów wynosi 1500-1800 h, co odpowiada 60 ECTS;
  • tygodniowy wymiar godzinowy nakładu pracy studenta wynosi 45 h;
  • 1 punkt ECTS odpowiada 25-30 godzinom pracy studenta potrzebnej do osiągnięcia zakładanych efektów uczenia się;
  • tygodniowy nakład pracy studenta konieczny do osiągnięcia zakładanych efektów uczenia się pozwala uzyskać 1,5 ECTS;
  • nakład pracy potrzebny do zaliczenia przedmiotu, któremu przypisano 3 ECTS, stanowi 10% semestralnego obciążenia studenta.

Efekty uczenia się - umiejętności:

(tylko po angielsku) U1: The student is able to read and comprehend advanced texts in the field of cultural studies in English (K_U02).


U2: The student is able to critically analyse and interpret various texts, use specialist terminology and justify the selected methodology in the field of cultural studies (K_U10).


U3: The student displays advanced argumentation skills and is able to refer to scholars’ opinions as well as to draw conclusions and prepare synthetic summaries in the field of cultural studies (K_U13).


U4: The student is able to conduct a preliminary search of library holdings, use databases and the Internet, prepare a list of references, add notes with due care as to the copyright, format documents using a word processor and make a presentation, applying a suitable method of studying culture (K_U14).


U5: The student is able to recognise and analyse various types of non-literary cultural artefacts, such as film genres, television programmes or visual arts (K_U20).


U6: The student is able to formulate critical opinions about cultural artefacts on the basis of academic knowledge and experience. The graduate is able to present their critical opinions in various forms and media (K_U21).

The aim of the specialization seminar is to introduce students to the methods employed in cultural and media research.

Pełny opis: (tylko po angielsku)

Students learn how to use particular methods to analyse cultural artefacts and apply acquired skills and knowledge in practice. The methods studied in the course can be further used in the process of writing MA theses in cultural studies. The seminar covers the following methods and approaches to cultural and media analysis: content analysis, frame analysis, narrative analysis, semiotics, typology and genre, ideological approaches, auteur, star and celebrity studies, audience studies. Students will have an opportunity to discuss a variety of cultural and media texts of their choice, applying a suitable method to better understand their meaning and function.

the assessment of the presentation (spring semester) /analysis (winter semester) (30% of the final grade)
