The seminar presents the work of William Shakespeare from a variety of perspectives (theatrical, film, literary, translation). Focusing on King Lear, the students will discover the richness of possible interpretations of the play and its influence on European and American culture. |

The seminar presents the work of William Shakespeare from a variety of perspectives (theatrical, film, literary, translation). Focusing on King Lear, the students will discover the richness of possible interpretations of the play and its influence on European and American culture. In the course of the classes the student will become intimately familiar with the play itself, its critical reception, a variety of translations and adaptations, both film and theater. The students will be analizing a selection of scenes from the play from a comparative approach. |
