Metody dydaktyczne: | (tylko po angielsku) informative (conventional) lecture |
Skrócony opis: |
(tylko po angielsku) This is a lecture about high energy astrophysics. During the lecture we describe astronomical instruments and measure techniques used in the high energy astrophysics and also sources and physical processes of the high energy emission. |
Pełny opis: |
(tylko po angielsku) Problems discussed during the lecture: historical introduction - description of the most important discoveries related with the high energy astrophysics, research in the X-ray range - orbital instruments and their discoveries, gamma-ray observations - instruments and their discoveries including ground based Cherenkov telescopes, an introduction to radiation processes - radiation transfer, emission processes - physical processes responsible for the high energy emission of astronomical objects, evolution of particle energy distribution - the kinetic equation, particle acceleration - first and second order Fermi processes, cyclotron acceleration and magnetic reconnection. |
Literatura: |
(tylko po angielsku) High energy astrophysics – Malcolm S. Longair Volume 1 – Particles, photons and their detection Volume 2 – Stars, the Galaxy and the interstellar medium Cambridge University Press, 1997, second edition and also newest editions. Radiative processes in astrophysic – George B. Rybicki & Alan P. Lightman, Harvard–Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co KGaH, 1979, and also newest editions. |
Metody i kryteria oceniania: |
(tylko po angielsku) The result of the learning are evaluated by the written exam. During the exam it is necessary do describe three specific problems presented in the lecture. The description can have a general form or be very specific, for example this can be an evaluation to get mathematical formula for a given physical law. |
