The society has been changing. The number of people with disabilities and is growing, and elderly people as well. Cultural institutions should prepare for this situation. On the course will be discussed an access to information for people with special needs ex. architectural access to the building, alternative formats, assistive technologies, information services for this group, professional skills of staff who serve people with disabilities. Students will learn the barriers to access to information and public institutions of people with disabilities. |

The society has been changing. The number of people with disabilities and is growing, and elderly people as well. Cultural institutions should prepare for this situation. On the course will be discussed an access to information for people with special needs ex. architectural access to the building, alternative formats, assistive technologies, information services for this group, professional skills of staff who serve people with disabilities. Students will learn the barriers to access to information and public institutions of people with disabilities. Detailed schedule: - the barriers to access to cultural institutions - the barriers to information for people with special needs - the tips how to serve people with disabilities - architectural access to buildings - universal design conception - alternative format materials - assistive technologies, - information services, - professional skills of staff - the visit in special department of main public library in Toruń which serve people with disabilities |
