The course offers a brief description of the history of the Christianity in Africa in its various expressions – since the powerful ancient Churches of Alexandria and Carthage, through the missionary efforts of the Europeans in the Modern Era, to the autonomous, vibrant communities of various denominations present in nowadays Africa. |

Learning outcomes - knowledge W-1: The student knows the basic facts from the history of the Christianity in Africa. W-2: The student is acquainted with the most important people from the history of Christianity in Africa. Learning outcomes - skills U-1: The student can explain what religious denominations dominated in different regions at different periods in Africa. U-2: The student can explain the importance of Eastern and Western interventions in the life of the Christians in Africa. Learning outcomes - social competencies K-1: The student is aware of the external and internal reasons for the demise of the Church in North Africa. K-2: The student can discuss in a civil way the current developments of the religious situation in Africa. K-3: The student is able to distinguish between various African Churches, their customs and creeds. |

Assessment methods: - attendence - test Assessment criteria: 1. The presence at the lectures (three absences allowed) 2. Final test. In order to pass this test students have to obtain at least 50%. Grades: satisfactory- … 50 % satisfactory plus- … 60…% good - 70…% good plus- … 80…% very good- … 85 % |
