good command of anatomy, physiology, and histology of the skin

The entrance test takes place on the first day of classes (exercises) and includes knowledge of skin anatomy and physiology, primary and secondary eruptions. The entrance test is carried out in writing (descriptive form) and is credited to the assistant conducting the class.

Written entrance test (0-15 points;> 56%); K_K08, K_W33,

Passing classes is based on the practical exam (0-30 points;> 56%); K_W33, K_W34, K_W37, K_U11, K_U24, K_K05, K_K06, K_K07, K_K08

Extended observation with evaluation criteria (0 - 10 points;> 50%): K_K05, K_K06, K_K07, K_K08

Balance of student workload:

- participation in lectures: 30 hours

Skrócony opis:

Dermatology with venereology is one of the basic medical specialties.

Dermatology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of skin lesions and its appendages (hair, nails) as well as some systemic diseases manifesting primarily on the skin (e.g. benign and malignant neoplasms such as malignant melanoma or erythema nodosum).

Venereology is a branch of medicine dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases.

Pełny opis:

Teaching classes are carried out in the form of lectures and tutorials.

The lectures are aimed at presenting current knowledge in the field of: structure, physiology and skin pathology, basics of dermatological symptomatology; bacterial and fungal infections, viral and parasitic diseases; erythematous dermatoses and drug reactions; allergic skin diseases; psoriasis; lichen planus; bullous diseases; connective tissue diseases; skin vascular diseases; granulomatous diseases and reactive changes; precancerous conditions and skin cancers; skin lymphomas; pigmented disorders; diseases of hair, nails, sebaceous and sweat glands, photodermatoses; phototherapy; surgical treatment of some skin lesions.

In the field of venereal diseases, the student is familiarized with the following topics: sexually transmitted diseases: syphilis, gonorrhea, urethritis [gonorrhea (specific) and non-gonococcal (non-specific) - NGU], acquired AIDS immunity syndrome (disease caused by HIV infection) .

Tutorials are carried out at the Clinic, both at the patient's bed and on the basis of case studies and didactic discussions. During the course of the exercise, the student acquires skills in the practical recognition of basic skin eruptions (primary and secondary), is familiarized with the etiopathogenesis and clinical symptoms of selected dermatological diseases, as well as sexually transmitted diseases. He learns differential diagnosis and treatment of the most common skin and venereal diseases. Acquires the skills of dermatological examination consisting in gathering focused interview and proper description of skin lesions. As part of the course, the principles in force in the diagnosis and treatment of skin and venereal diseases are presented, taking into account the subjective and physical examination, and interpretation of the results of diagnostic tests leading to proper final diagnosis and treatment.

The education is carried out in the form of e-learning lectures and tutorials in accordance with the didactic schedule.

E-learning lectures:

The e-learning platform https://moodle.umk.pl/WLek/ is a specialized website designed for distance learning. Students on the first lecture receive from the lecturer access to the remote learning platform. Didactic materials, tasks, tests, quizzes and ranges of requirements developed by the lecturer are placed on the platform. Students communicate with the lecturer via e-mail: marek.jankowski@cm.umk.pl

Students get credit, the lecturer assesses: online activity and W1 - W3, K5

Each student's absence from tutorials should be excused. A student absent from one tutorial should pass it (according to the planned topic for this tutorial day) with the academic teacher conducting the class. A student who is absent from two or more tutorials will not be credited, then he should do his exercises with another group.

The entrance test takes place on the first day of the tutorials and includes knowledge of skin anatomy and physiology, primary and secondary eruptions, is carried out in writing (descriptive form) and credited with the tutor (0-15 points;> 56%): W1 - W3

Completion of classes is based on the practical exam (0-30 points;> 56%): W1 - W3, U1 - U3, K1 - K5 and extended observation with assessment criteria (0 - 10 points;> 50%): K1 - K5

The practical exam includes practical knowledge of the symptomatology of skin diseases.

During the theoretical written exam (single-choice test) the main required learning outcomes are assessed: knowledge and selected skills: (0 - 50 points;> 56%): W1 - W3, U1 - U3 and K5

The theoretical exam consists of 50 questions with 5 answers, of which only 1 is correct and 4 are incorrect. The duration of the theoretical exam is 60 minutes.

Written test exam in the subject of "skin and venereal diseases" students pass immediately after the class in the winter examination session.

The results are announced no later than five days after the exam.

The student must obtain an entry in USOS from the theoretical exam by the end of the retake examination session (continuous session).

The date of the retake exam in the subject is set by the Head of Education at the latest during the retake exam session.
