Study hours involving teacher participation: - lectures (online - remote study) – 40 hours, - tutorials – 19 hours, - final exam – 0.5 hours Total teacher involvement: 60 hours, 1 ECTS credit. 2 Study hours involving individual student work: - preparation for lectures – 40 hours, - participation in tutorials - 20 hours, - reading literature –6,5 hours, - preparation for examination – 6+ 0,5 hours; Total: 91.5 hours (1,5 ECTS credits) 3. Study hours involving scientific research: - Reading of scientific literature: 3 hrs - Participating in lectures (online – remote study): 5 hrs - Participating in tutorials: 8 hrs - Preparation for examination: 3 hrs Total student workload involving scientific research: 19 hrs, which equals 0.76 ECTS credits 4. Time needed to prepare for and participate in the trading process: - Preparation for examination: 6 + 0.5 = 6.5 hrs (0.26 ECTS credit) 5. Efekty uczenia się - wiedza: | (tylko po angielsku) W1: describes the rules of qualification and performance of basic surgical procedures and invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (F K_W03) W2: explains the rules of perioperative safety, patient preparation for surgery, general and local anesthesia and controlled sedation (F K_W04) W3: defines postoperative treatment with analgesic therapy and postoperative monitoring; (F K_W05) W4: describes the genetic, environmental and epidemiological determinants of the most common diseases; (E K_W01) W5: lists the clinical forms of the most common diseases of individual systems and organs, metabolic diseases and disorders of water-electrolyte and acid-base balance; (C K_W33) |
Efekty uczenia się - umiejętności: | (tylko po angielsku) The student: U1: is able to perform a full and targeted physical examination of an adult patient (E K_U03) – this outcome is realized both in remote and stationary learning U2: Knows how to perform basic medical procedures, including: 1) taking temperature (core and peripheral) and pulse, non-invasive pressure measurement, 2) monitoring vital signs using a cardiac monitor, pulse oximeter, 3) spirometry testing, oxygen therapy, adjuvant and mechanical ventilation, 4) oropharyngeal airway insertion, 5) intravascular, intramuscular and subcutaneous injection, peripheral venous cannulation, peripheral blood draw, blood culture draw, arterial blood draw, arterialised capillary blood draw, 6) nasal, pharyngeal and skin swabbing, 7) urinary catheterisation in men and women, gastric probing, gastric lavage, enema, 8) standard resting electrocardiogram with interpretation, electrical cardioversion, defibrillation, 9) basic strip tests and blood glucose level tests ; (E K_U29) – this outcome is realized in stationary mode U3: is able to manage the patient’s medical records (E K_U38) – - this outcome is realized in stationary mode U4: follows the principles of asepsis and antisepsis;( F K_U03) – this outcome is realized in stationary mode U5: is able to obtain peripheral venous access;( F K_U05) – this outcome is realized in stationary mode U6: : knows how to examine the breasts, lymph nodes and thyroid gland, examine the abdominal cavity for signs of acute abdomen, and perform a digital rectal examination ( F K_U06) – this outcome is realized in stationary mode |

(tylko po angielsku) Introduction to Surgery is designer to familiarize the students with the basic tenets of surgery and the major differences between surgical and conservative medicine. The students get acquainted with the practical application of the rules of aseptic and antiseptic technique during tutorials in the surgical suite. They learn the basics of record – keeping, surgical examination and basic surgical skills. |

(tylko po angielsku) The objective of the lectures is to convey to the students the basic concepts of general surgery, patient preparation for burgery, perioperative patient management, and the basics of anaesthesia and pain control . The students are acquainted with the basics of wound healing, surgical instruments and the methods for the prevention and treatment of infection. Other topics covered include: acute abdomen, bleeding, trauma, including burns, as well as the basics of endoscopy and laparoscopy. During the tutorials the students learn practical skills covewring patient examination, small surgical procedures (suture placement and removal, catheterization and others listed in the practical skills section). During tutorials in the surgical suite, the students are acquainted with the rules of asepsis and antisepsis technique, basic surgical instruments and techniques. Exercises are held in the clinic, clinic clinics, in the block Operational Center and the Medical Simulation Center. |

Prolonged observation (0 – 10 points; > 50%): K1 – K2 - used in stationary and remote teaching mode. |
