| Wymagania wstępne: | (tylko po angielsku) The student should have knowledge of basic (preclinical) sciences (in particular: anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology, genetics, pharmacology, laboratory diagnostics, immunology, pathomorphology, microbiology), knowledge and skills in the basics of paediatrics: development of a healthy child, physical examination of a healthy child, child feeding, medical care for healthy children) and information on the most common diseases in children, including signs and symptoms, differentiation and treatment. The student should be able to communicate with the paediatric patient and its parents without supervision, collect a medical history and examine the patient in a manner appropriate to the patient's age. |

Study hours involving teacher participation: - tutorials: 120 hours (incl. 6 hrs in the Centre for Medical Simulations) - consults: 20 hours - credit: 2 hours Total workload involving teacher participation is 142 hours (5,41 ECTS points). 2. Study hours involving individual student work: - tutorials: 120 hours (incl. 6 hrs in the Centre for Medical Simulations) - preparation for tutorials (incl. case reports and presentations): 60 hours - consults: 20 hours - preparation for the credit and the credit: 8 + 2 = 10 hours Total workload involving individual student participation is 210 hours (8 ECTS points). |

| Efekty uczenia się - umiejętności: | (tylko po angielsku) Student: U1: is able to collect medical history of a child with communication problems and with upset or stressed parents (E K_U02) U2: is able to provide differential diagnosis of admitted children with unclear diagnosis (E K_U12) U3: can recognize symptoms of alcohol consumption or taking psychoactive agents or drugs (K_U15) U4: can interpret the results of laboratory tests in the most common diseases of children (E K_U24) U5: can assess the results of the coagulation tests in patients with haemophilia and other coagulation disorders (E K_U24) U6: can describe the somatic and mental state of a severely ill patient (E K_U13) U7: is able to properly assess the patient's condition and recognize of immediate life-threatening condition (E K_U14) U8: can recognize the symptoms of violence against a child (G K_U05) U9: can propose appropriate diagnostic, therapeutic and prophylactic procedures (E K_U16) U10: can qualify the patient for admission to the hospital (E K_U20) U11: is able to carry out the qualification test for vaccinations and justify disqualification from vaccinations (K_U27) U12: can apply nutritional treatment (including enteral and parenteral nutrition), especially in patients with colon diseases, absorption disorders and gastrointestinal mucositis (E K_U25) U13: can collect material for laboratory tests from a paediatric patient (E K_U28) U14: can perform following procedures: monitoring vital signs using a cardiomonitor, pulse oximetry, collecting nasal, throat and skin swabs, strips tests and blood glucose measurement (E K_U29) U15: can describe following medical procedures: transfusion of blood and blood products, skin allergic tests, scarification tests (E K_U30) U16: can properly plan consultations for paediatric patients (E K_U32) U17: can document the patient's condition and treatment (E K_U38) |

(tylko po angielsku) The aim of the subject is to practise and improve professional skills using the knowledge gained during lectures, seminars and tutorials at earlier stages of education. |

(tylko po angielsku) The aim of the subject is: familiarising students with the work of the department and out-patient clinics, practising the assessment of the child's state and psychophysical development, getting acquainted with the care of the infant, learning the principles of nutrition of healthy and ill child, improving the skills of examination of the child, deepening the skills of appropriate diagnosing and differentiation of common conditions with particular emphasis on emergencies, learning to interpret the laboratory, radiological and pathological results, participation in consults, getting familiar with medical records, learning the sanitary and epidemiological regulations in the paediatric ward and methods for the prevention of nosocomial infections. Classes are held in the following locations: • Department of Paediatrics, Haematology and Oncology (Antoni Jurasz University Hospital No. 1 in Bydgoszcz) ◦ wards of the department ◦ out-patient clinics for oncology and haematology, immunology, phacomatoses, pulmonology • Neonatology Department (University Hospital No. 2 in Bydgoszcz) • Paediatric Emergency Unit • Centre for Medical Simulations |
