A student who starts his education in the subject should have knowledge of physiology and pathophysiology in relation to the blood system and the basics of immunology (secondary school scope).

1. Compulsory hours with the participation of the teacher:

• participation in lectures using distance learning techniques: 6 hours

• on-line consultations: 2 hours

• conducting an on-line assessment: 0.5 hour

The workload related to the activities requiring the direct participation of academic teachers is 8.5 hours, which corresponds to 0.34 ECTS points.

• on-line consultations: 2 hours

• preparation for lectures (including reading the indicated literature): 6 hours

W1. He knows the rules of selecting blood and its components for transfusions in the case of immunohemolytic anemia of the fetus / newborn, in the case of autoantibodies or alloantibodies in recipients directed to erythrocyte or platelet antigens (E.W3.).

The course is aimed at acquainting the student with the legal basics of blood service, introduction to serology and transfusion medicine.

The course is aimed at acquainting the student with the legal basics of blood service, introduction to serology and transfusion medicine. Additionally, the topics of post-transfusion complications, hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn, and the acquisition of skills in serological diagnostics of blood groups will be discussed.
