Learning outcomes

(tylko po angielsku) E.W. 1. presents symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of the most common illnesses of the central nervous system, including:

a. headaches: migraine, neuralgies of the 5th nerve

b. strokes

c. epilepsy

d. inflammation of the nervous system such as: epidemic cerebrospinal meningitis, borelia, herpes meningitis, neurotrasmitive diseases

e. demetia (Alzheimer disease; cerebrovascular dementia)

f. the basal ganglia diseases

g. demyelinaiting diseases (multiple sclerosis)

h. nerves and muscle diseases (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, sciatic neuralgia)

i. brain concussion (E K_W14)

E.W.2. presents the main conceptions of pathogenesis of metal disorders (E K_W15).

E.W3. presents the causes, the general symptomatology of mental disorders ,principles of diagnosis and the principles of their classification according to the main classification systems (EK_W16)

E.W4.presents the principles of diagnosis and management in emergency psychiatry (EK_W18)

E.W5. describes the symptoms of mental disorders in patients with somatic diseases and their impact on the course of the underlying disease and treatment (EK_W20)

E.W6. presents the knowledge about human sexuality and sexual disfunctions (EK_W21)

E.W7. follow the rules concerning mental health protection, with particular emphasis on the rules of admission to psychiatric hospital (EK_W22).

E.U2. performs a full physical examination, (E K_U16)

E.U.3. proposes the appropriate direction of the treatment and propose prophylaxis (E K_U16)

(tylko po angielsku) K1: understands the importance of having a friendly, full of understanding and respect attitude towards patients suffering from mental disorders and shows respect to outlook and cultural differences (K_K03)

K2: guides by the well-being of the psychiatric patient, putting him first (K_K04)

K3: can keep a medical confidentiality and retains all rights of a psychiatric patient (K_K05)

K4: undertakes actions towards a psychiatric patient based on ethical principles, aware of social conditions and restrictions resulting from the disease (K_K08)

K5: promotes health-promoting behaviour among psychiatric patients (K_K09).
