Pełny opis: (tylko po angielsku)

The aim of the seminars is to obtain and maintain contemporary knowledge in the field of epidemiology, the clinical diagnosis of infectious diseases, tropical diseases with particular emphasis on contemporary biological hazards - hepatotropic virus infections, HIV infections, AIDS, hospital infections, bioterrorism.

Principles binding in diagnostics and treatment of infectious diseases will be presented including subjective and physical examination, interpretation of diagnostic test results leading to correct diagnosis and treatment,

Principles of isolation of persons infectious or suspected of infectious disease will be discussed.

Practical training is dedicated to the consolidation of knowledge acquired in seminars - on the ground of specific cases in order to acquire practical skills. During classes students conduct subjective and objective examination of patients, plan and conduct differential diagnosis and plan therapeutic management. They acquire skills of management of a suspected of infectious disease or contagiously ill patient by learning the principles of isolation, physical examination, collection, storage and transportation of diagnostic material. Metody i kryteria oceniania: (tylko po angielsku)

The credit of didactic classes: the credit of exercises in individual departments and positive evaluations of seminars - written or oral test (pass mark > 60%). The condition to get a credit for classes is an active participation in the scheduled activities and completion of practical skills (practical assessment - grading system 0-1). Prolonged student observation during the practical training is conducted to assess social competence (credit >50%). Passing the course requirements in accordance with the assumed educational results is a prerequisite for taking the module examination.

Written or oral test ( ≥60%): W1-W11, U1, U4.

Practical test ( 0-1 verification system): W4-W11, U1-U3.

Prolonged observation (scale 0-10; >50%): K1- K5

The student(s) will receive course credit after obtaining positive results of seminars and laboratory classes as well as positive grades in social competence, which is a prerequisite for taking the module examination.

Practical examination within the module (pass threshold

≥ 60%): W4-W11, U1-U4, K1-K5

Theoretical examination within the module ( pass mark

≥ 60%): W1-W11, U1, U4, K1.

The student(s) will receive course credit after obtaining positive results from the seminars and laboratory classes as well as positive grades in social competencies, which is a prerequisite for taking the module exam.

Students can take the module exam just after the course or during examination session. The condition necessary for take an exam is the prior completion of obligatory activities in the form of a formative assessment (the achievement of appropriate learning outcomes assigned to the course). It is not allowed to take an exam during the time allocated for other courses.

During the examination the required learning outcomes are evaluated: knowledge and skills in accordance with the syllabus and recommended literature.

Exam in infectious diseases consists of practical and theoretical part.

Practical exam - each of the skills tested during the practical exam is evaluated separately, according to the scale of points (subject examination - 25, physical examination - 25, interpretation of additional examinations - 25, differential diagnosis - 25). Total 100 points.

Percentage calculations of correct answers in the theoretical part and points obtained in the practical part - on the grading scale are as follows:

% Scores obtained grade

95≤…≤100 very good (5)

88≤…<95 good+ (4+)

80≤…<88 good (4)

71≤..<80 sufficient+ (3+)

60≤…<71 sufficient (3)

0.<60 insufficient

<60 not passed
