The aim of the course is to expand students’ knowledge of English-Polish contrasts in morphology, semantics and syntax. |

The aim of the course is to expand students’ knowledge of English-Polish contrasts in morphology, semantics and syntax. The theoretical part of the course is related to structural, categorial and functional contrasts and their potential sources. It also involves a thorough revision of frequent C1+ errors in morphology, lexis and grammar. The course comprises a very strong practical element, which is error analysis, correction and classification on the basis of C1+ language samples. Content distribution: - Introduction and requirements; a diagnostic element - Contrast and its types -Structural, categorial and functional contrasts - Compare, correct and classify: categorial contrasts - Compare, correct and classify - functional contrasts - Compare, correct and classify - mixed contrasts - Inter- and intralingual sources of contrasts - Students' mid-term presentations - Contrasts in morphology, lexis and grammar - Compare, correct and classify - miscellanea - Students' final presentations |
