Skrócony opis: |
(tylko po angielsku) Introduction to basic statistical and multivariate methods and applications of basic functions for analysis and research planning |
Pełny opis: |
(tylko po angielsku) Classes include the application of statistical methods in biology: description of biological data in mathematical language, description of relationships by means of basic linear and nonlinear functions, different types of data transformations, parametric and nonparametric significance tests, linear regression, classification, indirect and direct ordination methods. List of topics: 1. Basics of descriptive statistics – mean, median, modal, standard deviation, standard error, coefficient of variation 2. Testing simple hypothesis I – parametric tests: t-test, F-test, Chi2- test, one- and two-way ANOVA 3. Testing simple hypothesis II – non-parametric tests: Man-Whitney, Wilcoxon, Kruskal-Wallis with Dunn post-hoc comparison, PERMANOVA 4. On correlation and regression – basics of linear correlation and regression 5. Basics of classification methods – hierarchical agglomerative clustering, non-hierarchical k-means clustering 6. Basics of ordination methods – indirect (PCA, CA, DCA and NMDS) and direct ordination (CCA) |
