The aim of the course is (1) to introduce students with the basic concepts and categories that form the political systems of western democracies and to get them acknowledged with some examples of how these democracies function; (2) to improve their knowledge of the English vocabulary in political science and to improve their self-confidence in using English in communication. |

Metody i kryteria oceniania: |
• Attendance – a student may be absent twice during the semester (regardless of the reason), the third absence must be made up for during office hours (a discussion on the topic), if there is a forth absence all of them must be made up for during office hours. Above four absences the student fails the course. • Active participation in class assignments and class discussions • Preparing a presentation of a chosen country • At the end of the course (last meeting) there is going to be a test that covers basic concepts discussed in the class and information on the countries the students chose. |
