Skrócony opis:

The aim of the course is to provide students with knowledge of copyright principles in Great Britain and the United States.

Pełny opis:

The course comprises selected aspects of copyright principles in Great Britain and the United States from the perspective of future editors and copy-editors. In the first part, definitions of copyright, intellectual property, plagiarism, copyright violation and infringement, and derivative works, will be discussed. In the second part, special emphasis will be placed on practical manners of using sources and detecting plagiarism in the publishing and editorial context. Other aspects to be addressed include Public Domain, Creative Commons, and Fair Use.
