(tylko po angielsku) The course will provide students with skills and knowledge of English (British and American varieties) in its prescribed, correct usage conventions in the area of grammar, spelling, punctuation, style and register in written texts, with a view to enabling the students to carry out copy-editing tasks. |

(tylko po angielsku) The course comprises exercises which aim at gaining knowledge and skills required to carry out editing and copy-editing tasks in English texts. In the winter semester, the exercises focus on copy-editing: punctuation, capitalisation, spelling, referencing, and grammar rules, including the application of pre-set rules (house-style rules). In the summer semester, the exercises focus on editing, allowing the students to practise assessing the readability of a text as well as carrying out stylistic, structural, and content editing, and checking texts for consistency. The summer part of the course also covers the application of computer aids in the processes of editing and copy-editing.
