Efekty uczenia się - umiejętności: | Student U1: is able to analyse a selected text in English from the perspective of editing and typography; the student edits a simple book form by means of word-processing tools (K_U11) U2: is capable of editing a simple book form by means of word-processing tools (K_U14) U3: can typeset a literary book-form text ready for publication, with the proper care of source use, editing and typography, and by means of the InDesign DTP software (K_U11, K_U14). |

The aim of the course is to provide students with the knowledge of typography (its basics, history and current use) and skills in editing English texts. |

The course comprises exercises which aim at gaining knowledge and skills concerning the use of editing and typography in English texts. In the first semester, subjects comprise a discussion of various kinds of text publications, the analysis and edition of a book structure and layout, digital publications, font types, and the connection between editing and typography. In the second semester, The subjects comprise basic typesetting work with layout software designed for text and image work (Adobe InDesign).
