U1: is able to analyse, evaluate, select, and apply information using various sources and to formulate critical opinions on works of culture based on such sources (K_U01, K_U02)

U2: is able to place the analysed works of literature in a specific cultural context (K_U08, K_U09)

U3: is able to conduct a preliminary search of library holdings and make a presentation on a selected subject within cultyral research (K_U12, K_U14)

The aim of the specialisation seminar in culture is to develop the students' interests in selected fields within cultural and literary research.

Insights into selected Canadian drama and film

The aim of the seminar is to present and discuss the major subjects in the colonial and postcolonial drama, theatre and cinema of Canada.

The following works will be discussed:

- Marc Lescarbot: Théâtre de Neptune

- Black Robe (film)

- Anne Sarah Curzon: The Sweet Girl Graduate

- Sam Scribble: Dolorsolatio

- Gwen Pharis Ringwood: Still Stands the House

- Drylanders (film)

- Gwen Pharis Ringwood: Lament for Harmonica
