(tylko po angielsku) The course aims at developing students’ language skills with regard to the standards encountered in international proficiency tests offered by Cambridge UCLES, City & Guilds, ETC, and other test service providers (FCE, IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, The City & Guilds International ESOL, etc). |

(tylko po angielsku) Throughout the course, students will be able to improve their linguistic skills thanks to working on standardized international English-language proficiency tests, including those offered by Cambridge UCLES, City & Guilds, or ETC. Owing to their participation in the classes, the students will be aware of their linguistic strengths and weaknesses as well as they will be provided with the opportunity to improve their abilities. The main objective of the course is to motivate the participants to achieve higher levels of language proficiency, both during the studies and having completed them (Lifelong learning). |

Metody i kryteria oceniania: |
(tylko po angielsku) Assessment methods: - a progress test – W1, W2, U2 - an in-class presentation/portfolio – U1, K1 - active participation in the classes – W3, U1 - online tasks - W2, U2 - preparation for the classes (homework + materials) - U2, K1 Assessment criteria: The final grade comprises such elements as - a progress test (50%) - an in-class presentation/portfolio (30%) - active participation in the classes, preparation for the classes, completion of the assigned online tasks (20%) - the percentage in this respect will be reduced by 2% for every lack of homework, materials for the classes, and failure to complete the assigned online tasks (including submitting the assignments after deadline) The overall result is established in accordance with the following scale: 60%-71% = 3. 72%-76% = 3+ 77%-84% = 4. 85%-90% = 4+ 91%-100% = 5. The students are evaluated in accordance with the university regulations, and they must attend all course meetings. Informed participation in class discussions – based on completion of the assigned reading and supportive collaboration with classmates – is also required. Each class absence has to be excused in the first week after the lesson missed. The final grade percentage will be reduced by 10% for every unexcused absence. |
