The course will allow students to understand the theoretical and practical bases of the investment process management. It is focused on the investment decision process. The students will have an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the investment process, ways of financing investment projects and the cost of capital, basic investment appraisal methods and risk associated with investment projects. |

The Lecture: 1. Introduction to the investment: the concept of the investment, the investment project and the investment process; types of investment projects, the role of investment projects in the development process of the company - W1 2. Investment project life cycle - W1 3. Investment project feasibility study - W1 4. Financing the investment projects: sources of long-term financing, cost of capital, Weighted Average Cost of Capital, discounted rate - W1 5. Cash flows measurement - W1 6. Project evaluation methods -W1 7. Risk in investment decisions -W1 8. Project management, planning and control – selected issues - W1 The class objective is to familiarize students with the issue of investment project management. It is orientated toward understanding of the nature of investment project and project evaluation. The class context covers the following aspects of the problem: 1.
