time of the lectures: 15 hours


Student should prepare for the discussions that will be held at the lecture (e.g. read at home a paper on a particular topic). It takes about 30 hours.


Efekty uczenia się - wiedza:

(tylko po angielsku) Student knows the basics of contract law in foreign countries;

The fundamental principles of contract law such as freedom of contract are familiar to him;

Student has knowledge on the formation of contract, interpretation of contract, defects of consent and breach of contract in German, French, common law and in the systems of law of participants of this course.

The course is held in English and it is designed for both Polish and foreign students. It is dedicated to students who are interested in private law, especially obligation law, and the historical development of obligation law in various European states. Classes take the form of seminar. There are eight two hour meetings during which discussions are conducted on issues mentioned in the program of the course. Every particular issue is analyzed in the Polish, German, French and common law legal system as well as in the legal systems of participants of the course.

7. Unjustified enrichment

The above mentioned topics are strictly connected with the European contract and unjustified enrichment law. Every issue is discussed both in historical and comparative dimension, however emphasis is placed on contemporary law. Students are previously asked to study a particular issue at home in order to take a part in discussion conducted by lecturer, especially they should read an indicated chapter of one of the books mentioned bellow. Each student is required to present the development of a particular institution and its contemporary regulation in his own national legal system.
