Efekty uczenia się - umiejętności: | (tylko po angielsku) Student U1: is able to explain the visual, architectural, and cultural history of Europe in social context, develop a knowledge of and an ability to recognize design principle and elements in selected works of art U2: is capable to use critical reasoning skills to analyse visual objects and architecture by utilizing art historical and analytical tools. U3: has basic writing skills to build an effective argument. U4: can analyse cultural production of the diverse societies of Europe. |

K4: is aware of the importance of cultural diversity K5: identify the purposes and functions of art in human society and arrive at a coherent definition of what is meant “art” as cultural endeavor. K6: develops a deeper understanding of the culture and ability of thinking about visual art K7: can cooperate in process of explanation of iconography of art |

(tylko po angielsku) The classes will provide an introduction to works of art as the embodiment of cultural, social, and political values from ancient civilizations of the West, through medieval and modern period to the present. The students will learn a selected number of paintings, sculptures, and buildings from a variety of perspectives. The course will address various historical periods, artists, creative practices, and themes through the study of Western art objects that exhibit unique and significant means of expression in visual form. |

(tylko po angielsku) This course is designed to give the students wide understanding of European history, culture and visual art. Examines the cultures and history of art from the Palaeolithic period through contemporary art. Addresses wide range of art production including architecture, sculpture, and painting. Explores works in their social context, addressing issues of patronage, material culture, world exploration, and religious development and conflict, among other topics. The titles of the lectures: 1. Prehistoric period of European art 2. Art of ancient Egypt 3. Art of Aegean and Ancient Greece 4. Ancient Etruria and Rome 5. Early Christian art 6. Byzantine Empire and early medieval art and architecture 7. Romanesque art of Europe 8. Gothic Europe 9. Art of Netherlands, renaissance and mannerism art 10. Art of Reformation in Europe 11. Baroque art in Italy, France, Germany and England 12. Eighteenth Century art in Europe 13. Art of nineteenth Century 14. Art of I half of XX Century 15. Art since 1945 |
