The Bible is still the world's best-selling and most widely distributed book. As a handbook of theology it has had an enormous impact on lives of many generations of Jews and Christians. It is also a book that people who have no faith can benefit from reading. It simply contains wisdom that all people can relate to. Its beautiful imager does not stop inspiring artists and writers. The course is to give an idea of how the aspects of human sexuality are reflected in the Bible. Man and woman, love and marriage, sex and lust, purity and impurity – these are the core of the questions that will be addressed. 1. “Male and female he created them” – Gen 1,27 2. Abraham and Sara – love in old age. – Gen 12 - 24 3. Meeting brides at the well – a motif 4. Solomon – a husband of 700 wives. 5. Solomon – a perfect lover in the Song of Songs. 6. Marrying a harlot – the case of the prophet Hosea. 7. For love is strong as death; Jealousy is cruel as Sheol (Song of Songs 8,6). |

Metody i kryteria oceniania: |
Assessment methods: np. - an essay - activity and attendance Assessment criteria: - 50 % attendance is mandatory (one absence is excusable; two and more absences result in failing the class). - 50 % written paper on any topic discussed within the class. Plagiarism - use of another's intellectual work without acknowledgement - is a serious offense. |
