Skrócony opis: |
(tylko po angielsku) The subject consists of the following topics: Fluorescence Spectroscopy in pharmaceutical study Nanomedicine and plasmonics Oxazaphosphorinane Drugs Laboratory Medicine as a Profession and Medical Science Vitamin D Deficiency and Its Consequences C-reactive protein: risk marker or mediator in disease? Cosmeceuticals. |
Pełny opis: |
(tylko po angielsku) Applications of fluorescence spectroscopy methods in pharmaceutical study - drugs interaction with proteins and membranes. Nanomedicine and plasmonics – (1) application of nanoparticles as drug delivery systems, (2) applications of functionalized nanoparticles in diagnosis and therapy – plasmonic photo thermal therapy (PPTT). Oxazaphosphorinane Drugs are important, clinically used anticancer agents. Development of these drugs, current status and future progress will be presented. Advances in medical sciences and clinical practice cause the continuous increase in demand for laboratory testing. Meeting this demand is possible thanks to methodological and technological progress in laboratory medicine over the past 20 years that has brought measuring various physiological compounds with ultrasensitive methods and testing on cellular and sub-cellular level. There are various vitamin D deficiency manifestations including osteoporosis and propensity to fall, cancer, cardiovascular diseases and hypertension. Vitamin D deficiency is highly prevalent in general population and presents a serious public health problem C-reactive protein is an acute-phase plasma protein whose blood concentration reflects the presence and intensity of inflammation. Conditions that commonly lead to marked increases in CRP include infection, trauma, surgery, burns, inflammatory conditions, and advanced cancer. Elevated levels of CRP are associated with atherosclerosis and cardiovascular risk. Cosmeceuticals are a new and important class of agents used in cosmetology. They are active compounds possessing both therapeutic and cosmetic action. Development of these dermocosmetics, current status and future progress will be presented. |
