Rehabilitation is a field dealing with a comprehensive physical and mental improvement of the patient. During classes the issues related to the rehabilitation of patients with various types of organ dysfunctions will be presented: • due to nervous system damage, • due to degeneration of the musculoskeletal system, • injuries to the musculoskeletal system, • postural defects, • cardiovascular diseases. |

Seminars are to provide the students with knowledge about the subject; • Basics of kinesiotherapy, systematics of physical exercises • Basics of physical therapy, the type of physiotherapeutic procedures used and their indications and contraindications • Spinal injuries- etiology, types of injuries, physical examination outcomes, complications, rehabilitation • Organic brain damage resulting from trauma and ischaemia- etiology, clinical signs, rehabilitation. • Faulty posture, scoliosis- etiology, physical examination outcome, diagnosis, methods of treatment • Degenerative spine disease, osteoporosis- etiology, clinical symptoms, treatment • Amputations of lower limbs - etiology, rehabilitation, prosthesis Exercises are devoted to the acquisition of the following skills; • Correctly conducting an interview with a patient with the above-mentioned medical conditions • Assessment of muscular strength, active and passive range of motion in the joints of the limbs • Assessment of body posture • Evaluation of muscle strength in the Lovett scale • Examination of a patient with spinal cord injury - ASIA score • Setting goals for the rehabilitation of the above-mentioned diseases • Selection of basic orthopedic equipment |

Metody i kryteria oceniania: |
The end-of-block test is administered on the last day of classes in the Department of Rehabilitation. The test includes 25 questions in rehabilitation. The following grading scale is used: • >96% correct answers (24-25 pts) – 5; • 88-95% correct answers (22-23 pts) – 4.5; • 89-84% correct answers (20-21 pts) – 4.0; • 83-68% correct answers (19-17 pts) – 3.5; • 67-60% correct answers (16-15 pts) – 3. In case of excused absence, students can make up the missed classes with other student groups, or on a day specified by the supervisor during the retake session (first 2 weeks of September). |
