Efekty uczenia się - umiejętności: | Student U1: is able to analyse a selected types of publications from the perspective of modern graphic design and typography (K_U13), U2: is capable of using a specialised terminology associated with graphic design, art of editing (K_U13), U3: has advanced skills in analysing the elements of macro and microtypography (K_U13), U4: can define book editorial theory, typography and textual scholarship in the analysis of selected graphic content (K_U06, K_U019). |

(tylko po angielsku) The course is dedicated to the analysis of printing technique related to the editorial and graphic design process of various types of publications, such as: academic books (representing different academic disciplines), belles-lettres (poetry, drama, novel, autobiography, the collection of letters, diary), critical editions of literary works, the press, comic books, art albums, experimental book projects or bibliophile editions. |

(tylko po angielsku) Subjects of the lectures: - art of book: the various types of publications (academic books, belles-lettres, critical editions of literary works, the press, comic books, art albums), - modern typography: graphic design, art of editing, macro and microtypography, - experimental book projects and bibliophile editions, - the main elements of book production, - the role of book format, type of paper, colour scheme, binding design, - printing technique (wood block, movable type, letterpress, phototypesetting, offset, inkjet, digital), - the limits of printing industry and the place of the book in the 21st century, - the functioning of a modern publishing company (the course is combined with practical lectures at the Nicolaus Copernicus University Press). - the main aspects of publishing marketing (how to effectively promote a book or magazine). - multi-channel distribution and book trade (how to effectively distribute book). - the most important wholesalers and bookstores in Poland and Europe. |
