The course is dedicated to Erasmus students, and to other students, from all faculties, interested in the topic of comparative music and film studies.

The classes concern music analysis of selected examples taken from films and TV series on dystopian and post-apocalyptic themes, such as:

MadMax

Cargo

The Lobster

Altered Carbon

The 100

Chernobyl

Individual classes will be dedicated to subsequent musical solutions used in these specific film genres. The list of examples may change, for example at the request of students. All examples will be available on the platforms: Netflix, HBO Go, Amazon Prime.

Assessment criteria:

Test (15 questions, 15 pts) is the basic criterium of evaluation. However, student can gain additional points for her/his activity in discussion. These points can influence the final result.

fail – 0-7 pts (0-50%)

satisfactory – 8-9 pts (51-60%)

satisfactory plus – 10 pts (61-70%)

good – 11-12 pts (71-80%)

good plus – 13 pts (81-90%)

very good – 14-15 pts (91-100%).
