ECTS credit allocation (and other scores): 2.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles:
  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

The student

W1: has advanced knowledge of British literature and of such aspects as periodisation, genres and forms, and works by selected authors (18th -19th century) (K_W04)

W2: has advanced knowledge of literary studies (K_W05).

W3: has advanced knowledge of selected historical social, religious, philosophical and political issues determining the development of British culture (18th-19th century) (K_W08).



Learning outcomes - skills:

The student

U1: is able to place the studied works in a general historical and cultural context of the development of British literature (K_U11).

U2: is able to recognise literary genres and conventions of the studied works (K_U12).


Learning outcomes - social competencies:

The student

K1: appreciates British tradition and cultural heritage in the context of development of European literature and is aware of their responsibility for preserving them (K_K03).

K2: participates in activities for promoting British tradition and cultural heritage (K_K04).
