  • roczny wymiar godzinowy nakładu pracy studenta konieczny do osiągnięcia zakładanych efektów uczenia się dla danego etapu studiów wynosi 1500-1800 h, co odpowiada 60 ECTS;
  • tygodniowy wymiar godzinowy nakładu pracy studenta wynosi 45 h;
  • 1 punkt ECTS odpowiada 25-30 godzinom pracy studenta potrzebnej do osiągnięcia zakładanych efektów uczenia się;

W1: describes selected aspects of English grammar in a descriptive perspective, using suitable terminology (K_W01, K_W09)


W2: enumerates characteristics and examples of parts of speech, elements of phrases and simple sentences (K_W03)


Efekty uczenia się - umiejętności:

The student

U1: is able to interpret texts pertaining to selected aspects of English descriptive grammar (K_U02)

U2: is capable of analyzing words, phrases and simple sentences on the basis of selected examples (K_U06)

U3: can select and interactively present information on parts of speech, elements of phrases and simple sentences (K_U05, K_U18)

The aim of the course is to acquaint the student with basic concepts pertaining to English descriptive grammar.

The aim of the course is to acquaint the student with basic concepts pertaining to English descriptive grammar.

The first semester concentrates on parts of speech, construction of phrases and simple sentences in English. The initial set of classes is devoted to discussing open- and closed-class elements as well as phrases headed by nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs and prepositions. The next set of classes concentrates on syntactic and semantic elements of the simple sentence in English.

- Parts of speech

- Phrases and their types

- Mid-semester test

- The simple sentence

- Syntactic elements of the simple sentence

- Semantic elements of the simple sentence

- Final test

Metody i kryteria oceniania:

A graded credit on the basis of in-class and home assignments, two mid-term tests as well as one final test assessing the level of achieving particular learning outcomes.

Observation of participation, preparation and homework completion, in-class assignments documented in an individual log of progress - W1, W2, U1, U2, U3 (20% of the final grade); no unexcused absences are allowed - each unexcused absence means 10% off the student's grade

Mid-term test - W1, W2, U2 (30% of the final grade)

Final test - W1, W2, U2 (50% of the final grade)

Missing 7 classes (or more), even if excused, is likely to result in failing to obtain a passing grade.

GRADED CREDIT:

fail- below 60 %

satisfactory- 60-69 %

satisfactory plus- 70-74 %

good – 75-84 %

good plus- 85-89 %

very good- 90 and above %
