(tylko po angielsku) The course comprises exercises which aim at gaining knowledge and skills in the use of proofreading rules. Subjects comprise proofreaders' marks used on hard copy, review and tracking functions in word processors and proofreading applications in PDF files. |

(tylko po angielsku) The course comprises exercises which aim at gaining knowledge and skills in the use of proofreading rules.The classes are based on exercises involving proofreading advanced texts in English, using proofreading marks on hard copy, review and tracking functions in word processors, and proofreading applications in PDF files. The students are also familiarised with other computer aids useful in the process of proofreading. Content distribution: – Introduction: familiarising the students with the assumed learning outcomes, seminar topics, code of conduct, evaluation criteria – Proofreading rules: consistency (in spelling, formatting), eliminating omissions and repetitions, “awkward” word and page breaks, spelling, grammar (“light editing”), typing mistakes – Proofreading practice – Proofreading symbols – Proofreading in Microsoft Word and Adobe Reader – Machine learning, online proofreading and AI |
