The course will develop close reading skills and present issues in stylistics and poetics from the perspective of their usefulness in the analysis of literary texts. |
Pełny opis: |
The course will introduce crucial terms in poetics and literary stylistics for the purpose of literary analysis. Students will practice close reading and annotating literary texts in terms of diction, imagery, tropes, narrative mode, etc. and the relationship between style and meaning in a literary work. |

The semester will conclude with a test featuring theoretical and practical components. To earn credit for the semester, students will need a passing grade for both types of tasks. W1, U1, U3 - test (80%) U2, U4, U5, K1 - in-class activity, groupwork (20%) 2 - below 55% 3 – 55-69 % 3+ – 70-74 % 4 – 75-84 % 4+ - 85-89% 5 – 90-100% |
