(4 ECTS) __________________________________ LITERARY AND CULTURAL STUDIES Contact hours with the teacher: - participation in classes – 10 hrs. - teacher-assisted online activities – 25 hrs. - individual feedback – 15 hrs. Self-study hours: - preparation for classes – 20 hrs. - preparation of projects – 30 hrs. Total: 100 hours (4 ECTS)
Efekty uczenia się - wiedza:	TRANSLATION STUDIES: localization W1 – The student has in-depth knowledge of major concepts related to localization (K_W11) W2 – The student has in-depth knowledge of linguistic, cultural and technical aspects of localization (K_W12) W3 – The student knows the principles of preparing and internationalizing texts for localization (K_W13) W4 - The student knows how to explain his/her decisions in audiovisual translation, respond to criticism and modify their translation (K_W06, K_W08) __________________________________ LITERARY AND CULTURAL STUDIES W1: The student has in-depth and systematized knowledge of literary and cultural studies (K_W06, K_W08). W2: The student has in-depth and systematized knowledge of research-related terminology and methodology applied in cultural and literary studies (K_W11)
Efekty uczenia się - umiejętności:	TRANSLATION STUDIES: localization U1 - The student adjust his/her translation to the skopos of the task and the expected profile of the audience (K_U02, K_U08) U2 - The student conducts a pre-translation analysis of audiovisual texts to be localized, using a range of available sources (K_U01, K_U04, K_U11) U3 - The student inteprets and analyses localizable assets and their translations using specialized terminology (K_U13) U4 - The student solves unexpected problems in localization, adjusting translation techniques to the technical constraints (KU_03) __________________________________ LITERARY AND CULTURAL STUDIES U1: The student is able to search for, analyse, select, interpret and use information from various reliable sources, using advanced technologies in their research (K_U01, K_U04). U2: The student is able to select, apply and adjust research methods and tools to address both typical and non-typical research problems and react to unpredictable circumstances (K_U02, K_U03). U3: The student is able to undertake autonomous tasks in the field of cultural and literary studies, taking into account the objectives and instructions formulated by their academic supervisors (K_U08). U4: The student is able to gain and deepen their knowledge in the field of cultural and literary studies and develop their research skills on their own (K_U11). U5: The student is able to critically analyse and interpret various texts, use specialist terminology and justify the selected methodology in the field of literary and cultural studies (K_U13).

Skrócony opis:	TRANSLATION STUDIES: localization The aims of Specialisation Seminar I are: - to present the range of approaches in the chosen field of academic research within translation studies, - to present audiovisual translation in a professional and practical context, - to develop reading and research skills connected with the field of study and academic interests. __________________________________ LITERARY AND CULTURAL STUDIES The aim of the seminar is to discuss selected approaches in literary and cultural studies.
Pełny opis:	TRANSLATION STUDIES: localization The seminar offers and overview of the major modes of localization, with a focus on rephrasing content to ensure its unimpeded comprehension and meet technical requirements. __________________________________ LITERARY AND CULTURAL STUDIES The seminar offers an overview of major critical tendencies in literary and cultural studies, in particular ecocriticism, posthumanism, and ethical criticism. The summer term is dedicated to the discussion of the relationship between humans and machines as represented in criticism, film, and fiction.
