By using philosophical tools like conceptual analysis, critical approach to texts, critical interpretation of text content, problematization of the assumptions of the texts and historical comparison of cultural context, we aim at gaining more clear view of the possible practical solution of gender problem in science. Possible topics include (but are not limited to): • What does it mean to be a gender sensitive scientist and/or philosopher of science; • The phenomenon of the absence of women in science and underestimation of their contribution to science; • The impact of gender on research priorities, methodology, gathering data, language and the way of presenting the results (data feminism perspective). • Political dimension of the scientific research (Feminist science and technology studies perspective); • The example of critical approach to science: neurofeminism. |

Metody i kryteria oceniania: |
Students are highly encouraged to participate in all classes and take part in the discussions after reading the texts at home. We will analyse them carefully and within the group, for the debates are intended to clarify the content of texts, present the historical background, help to understand students’ own points of view. Active participation in the class discussions or/and preparing short (2-3 pages) review of the chosen text from the philosophy of science domain will increase the final grade. |
